When it comes to finding a snack for your kids that you know they will love, smoothies are always an easy go-to. They are simple and versatile and an option that kids of all ages and even the pickiest of eaters often enjoy. Served as an after-school snack or even a breakfast alternative, your kids will love this one…

I chose to include a variety of different fruits in this recipe, including peach, golden kiwi, and sweet cherries. The flavors complement each other beautifully and offer a delicate sweetness.

I’ve opted for kale as a nutrient-dense add-in. Kale is a popular leafy green packed with many potential health benefits. High in antioxidants and full of fiber, it’s one of the healthiest foods you can choose, but often a harder sell with the kid set, so I love building it into smoothies.

Blending whole oats into this healthy smoothie also boosts the fiber content and makes it more filling.

Flax is another great smoothie add-in that aids in digestive health. It’s rich in Vitamin E, which helps promote skin and hair health.

Maca powder mixes easily into this healthy smoothie, and giving it a delicious, nutty flavor. Maca powder may improve energy and stamina and is packed with nutrients including:

  • Vitamin C

  • Copper

  • Iron

Chia seeds and almond butter also lend some healthy fats, fiber, and plant-based protein, making this smoothie well-balanced and very nourishing.

One fun tip to try with any extra leftover smoothie is to freeze it into popsicle molds. I love these sweet popsicle molds* that come in playful shapes, sizes, and colors. Enlist your kids in the process of making popsicles— engaging them in food prep can help them accept a variety of new foods, flavors, and textures as they grow.

If you make this Peach and Cherry Maca Smoothie, I would be so grateful if you would rate it and leave a comment! The star ratings help more people find my recipes and articles. Thank you!

Enjoy…
