Work With Malina Malkani, Pediatric Dietitian & Nutrition Coach
I’m Malina Malkani, MS, RDN, CDN, a pediatric dietitian specializing in child nutrition, picky eating, food allergy nutrition therapy, and personalized nutrition counseling for children, women, and families.
Whether you’re navigating selective eating, managing food allergies, supporting healthy growth, or looking for a more balanced, pressure-free approach to feeding, I offer evidence-based, compassionate nutrition coaching tailored to your family’s unique needs.
I work with families across New York, Connecticut, and nationwide through virtual nutrition consultations.
Pediatric Nutrition & Child Feeding Support
I provide pediatric nutrition counseling for infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents, with a focus on building healthy habits for children without pressure, fear, or food battles.
Areas of support include:
Starting solids & baby-led weaning
Food allergy prevention and management
Picky eating and selective eating
Navigating mealtime stress and feeding challenges
Supporting a balanced diet for growing children
Addressing nutrient deficiencies
Nutrition guidance for healthy growth and development
Family-centered feeding strategies rooted in trust and structure
Nutrition considerations for complex medical conditions
My approach supports whole child physical health and emotional health, recognizing that how children feel about food matters just as much as what they eat.
Food Allergies & Medical Nutrition Therapy
My background includes specialized training in food allergy management and nutrition counseling, as well as medical nutrition therapy. I help families safely and confidently navigate food allergies and nutrition considerations for complex medical conditions across all stages of childhood, including hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI), eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), and food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES).
Support includes:
Nutrition planning for children with food allergies
Maintaining a balanced diet while avoiding allergens
Education grounded in food allergy research & education
Reducing fear and nutritional gaps after diagnosis
Supporting optimal health and growth despite dietary restrictions
Collaborating with your child’s allergist and other members of their healthcare team
Guidance on reintroduction of allergens into the diet, when appropriate
My goal is to help families move beyond anxiety and toward clarity, confidence, and nourishment.
Every client begins with a comprehensive nutrition assessment, allowing me to create a personalized nutrition plan that reflects medical history, lifestyle, culture, preferences, and goals.
My 4-month nutrition coaching service packages include:
Initial nutrition consultation (75 minutes)
Four follow-up appointments (45 minutes)
Unlimited text/email support between appointments
Evidence-based nutrition counseling
Sustainable, realistic strategies for everyday life
Long-term dietitian support, as needed
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition — especially for families. My role is to guide, support, and adapt alongside you.
Personalized Nutrition Coaching & Counseling
Nutrition Services for Women & Families
I also provide nutrition coaching for women, including support for:
Meeting nutrient needs across life stages
Maintaining a healthy weight range without dieting
Supporting energy, well-being, and overall physical health
Building sustainable, balanced eating habits
This work often overlaps with family nutrition — because caring for children starts with caring for yourself.

Virtual sessions are a great way for me to provide care to people who are unable to meet in person or would prefer to receive services in the comfort of their own home. Just like my in person sessions, the process starts with you booking a free discovery call to discuss your goals. From here, we would schedule times to meet virtually via Practice Better, a HIPAA compliant video service that allows us to easily and securely discuss your needs. If you have questions about setting up your Practice Better portal, please feel free to reference the FAQ page here.
